The CILogon project provides gateway/translation services to exchange
SAML assertions from eduGAIN IdPs to OIDC ID tokens.  There is a basic
tier for authentication services that is free. See

Note, however, that IdPs must support the REFEDs Research and
Scholarship entity category and participate in the SIRTFI trust
framework for security incident response. See
