hi,
so the number of sessions is not a matter, first we should discuss about the
bandwidth and the enabled features, and in case of nat, the number of
sessions first...
we can do bng and nat in dpdk or asic, but nowadays the tofino based boxes
have comparable prices to a server with a proper nic for the dpdk,
and at least they're fine up to some tbps so for a commercial bng usage, i
definitely would go that way... :)
regardless of which dataplane you go with in field, the control plane is all
cases will be freerouter,
so to move forward, i highly suggest you do give a try to the one-line
installed at freertr.net, then
try out yourself if what you get is what you need... at this point you're
just evaluating what the
control plane can do for you, then you should activate at least the libpcap
based dataplane to see
yourself how all this works with an external forwarder...

I thought you are reffering me to some other team for support.

So let's move on, how can we work together to get me BNG which supports ten thousands of pppoe/ipoe sessions with ipv4 and ipv6 support. The solituin should also supports cgnat for ipv4.

In other words a fully commercial bng/bras.

Let's discuss

How can you commercially support us ?
if you really need this, imho the geant project is more than happy to
contract you...

Do you have any BNG in production ? >
we do eat our own dog food: all my openwrt aps here do pppoe (under the
gretap) moreover all my internet access does pppoe (and the dataplane's point
of view, it's completely irrelevant if it's a client or server side, they
just deal with the ip4/ip6 pppoe frames, all the rest handled in
freerouter...)
