Hi,

We just released version 2.0(678) in the beta channel.

This test build contains:
- a fix for TLS profiles without Passphrase;
- ignores Passpoint errors for Android versions below 11;
- the close button size is adjusted to fit wider translated values;
- fix crashes on platforms that did not implement the action API;
- fix some other reasons for crashing, among others too large logo's *) from CAT profiles;

We hope the last two fixes resolve the crashes on HONOR phones, and maybe Xiaomi and Oppo also.

It seems newer versions of MIUI (MIUI 13 and MIUI 14) are working ok.

We are going to try geteduroam 1.1.0 from Aug 16, 2023 on the devices, as a workaround and trying to find out more information about the problem.

The problem we are seeing in Xiami devices is not an "invalid profile" error.

The profile seems to work properly, but when the user inserts the credentials, the geteduroam closes silently and no wifi configuration has been added to the device.

Since last geteduroam update we are having problems configuring eduroam on Xiaomi devices with MIUI firmware 12.5 and older.

It looks like it can not install the CA certificate.

 

We have also detected some problems with an Honor device. Not sure if it's related yet.

 

Anyone has notice also this problem?

I have been asked to report this issue to you by the University Information Services (UIS) team at Cambridge. I'm having issues trying to login to eduroam using the 'geteduroam app' on my Huawei mobile.

 

UIS know of at least one other report of a Huawei device having issues with the updated app, so it could be a related problem. They suspect this is an issue with the new version of the geteduroam app. If anyone has a workaround for the issue, please do let me know.
