Hi,

Leading on from this, I've tried another institutes config and although it doesn't automatically ask me to open it with eduroam CAT, it does open the app when selected from the pull drop notifications menu.

So does this mean it's our config?

Thanks,
Kieran

Hi,

That is odd. Clicking the download link on cat.eduroam.org should immediately open the eduroamCAT app. Not download it.

What happens if you go to https://swis.swan.ac.uk/swansea.eap-config from the android devices browser?

Gareth.

Hi Gareth,

I've tried in on a Galaxy S5 running Android 5.0 and a Galaxy Note 2 running Android 4.4

Both have the same issue.

The weird thing is that both clicking the link from within the app and clicking the link on the cat website just download it.

It's after the download that I get the error when trying to open the file.

Either selecting it from the menu bar or through 'My Files' returns the same message.

Thanks,

Kieran

Hi,

Sounds like the android device you have is not matching the intent-filter for *.eap-config files.

If you browse to the android config download from the android device, it shouldn’t download it, but rather just open the app.

However, the internal discovery in the app should download it.

What device, and android version is it?

Can you also confirm you are using the native ‘Downloads’ app, and not any other app like ‘My Files’ that comes with Samsung devices?

Thanks,

Gareth.

Hi there,

First off, sorry if this has already been covered but...

I'm trying to use the Android eduroam CAT app with profiles downloaded from cat.eduroam.org and profiles downloaded from within the app but everytime I click on the file from in the 'Downloads' folder I get a message saying 'Can't open file'

The app doesn't pick up on it either.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Kieran
