Alan,
I know that this can happen, just wondered if this particular server does that. After all the CAT admin had set the anonymous identity support, so one would guess that he knew what he was doing.

Hi,

In principle it could be that your server just drop user anonymous -
is there a chance that this could be true?
that could be very likely - if NPS or RADIATOR receives such as request
when there is no such user, the request is dropped/rejected before EAP
negotiation
starts. likewise, if FreeRADIUS is configured to do certain authZ in the
outerID
you might get the same effect.
