hi,
this afternoon we enabled mpls and shortly after pppoe on a link!
that is, it's a bng, a bras (*), at the moment, the pppoe
encap/decap happens at 200gbps and i see no reason why
cannot it do on all of it's ports.... stay tuned, we'll
test the rest of the encaps too.... like l2tp, gre, all
with mpls now as this is what interested for most of us....

is an executive brief, but here they want you to tunnel customer layer2 to
your dc to decap on a vmx....
but consider that a server capable of handling 100gbps have almost the same
price tag that tofino,
not talking about the burden of tunneling to the dc just to decap.... and the
main point is that
tofino does the pppoe on all of it's 32 100g ports so it's a nice replacement
for 32 servers in this usecase...

and pppoe is a must for big telcos who (must) do wholesale on the last mile...
