Hi Simon,

 

With a correctly configured profile, Android 13 connects fine with eduroam CAT (or rather, with the geteduroam app). Do not use the old eduroam CAT app on Android 13… it’s obsolete. Use geteduroam instead. If you are using geteduroam, I suspect that there’s something not quite right with your organisation’s certificate that Android 13 doesn’t like (although it’s not any fussier than Android 12).

Subject: [[cat-users]] Problems connecting to Eduroam CAT on a Pixel 6 Pro using Android 13

 

Hi,

 

I work at Edith Cowan University in Perth Western Australia and have a Google Pixel 6 Pro mobile phone.

I had issues connecting to the ECU Wi-Fi via EduroamCAT previously, after the phone operating system upgraded from Android v11 to v12. These issues were eventually solved and it connected fine again.

 

But now the phone has updated itself to Android 13, and I can no longer connect to the ECU Wi-Fi through EduroamCAT.

I have had our IT services people looking at this and they can’t get it to work either. All profiles were removed, the App uninstalled, device restarted and the App reinstalled, but nothing worked.

 

Is there an update coming soon to enable connection for devices using Android 13.

All Google Pixel phones from a Pixel 4 up to a Pixel 7 will probably be affected by this, if not the older handsets now, then very soon.
