run it on some other computers - you may find that you were just unlucky with 
this
one machine - its likely that if this system is used to do lots of bleeding 
edge stuff or is played with
by  techie person that there could be something wrong - for example in this 
case I'd be thinking its
either some software running on it or worth doing a registry check/fix
