So your advice would be to display an information in red and below display the whole list of available platforms.
This could be easily achieved with the current CAT design.

Thus we are waiting for more suggestions/comments.

Sorry, if I did not expressed myself correctly...

My intention was to propose using this to simplify and make more uniform
the UX. These are mockups of what these buttons could look alike (apart
from the design and layout questions discussed before):

Hi Jose,
I do not think that simplification of the work is really an issue
here, it is more an actual design and layout decision that we are after.

Indeed you have a point. Someone who has not seen the interface before
will take the grey for a normal thing.
The text telling that there will be no download is not big, therefore
not obvious.

Of course if you click the button you will be told again that things
will not work.

What I could do in such a case is make the platform name smaller and the
message a little larger and possibly in red?
why not to use an html framework for styling... there are lots that
could be used and could simplify a lot the work to be done, and you can
even use icons (glyphs). Check this one (HTML kickstart) by example:

- forms (includes an error message example):

http://www.99lime.com/elements/#forms

- buttons:

- Some icons, including Apple, Win, Linux, Android

- everything else:
