I implement the monitoring thanks to Prometheus-Grafana docker compose.
Thank you Gabriel for the explanation

As alarm is required, I still struggling with "alertmanager" that  refuses to work in the docker implementation. It seems to not take in consideration any "rules.yml" file, do not know why?
I will maybe install Prometheus/Grafana/alertmanager

As  I was stuck, I started to work on another aspect of my work which is to check if SONIC could be a backup solution if we do not continue with RARE/Freertr (I do not think we will never do that but ...). So for now, I just installed SONIC and trying to make this work on SONIC.
So no urgency, take your time

Complementing what Frédéric says, the github documentation needs to be updated for the version with the new grafana sensors and panels.

But there you can already get a sense of how monitoring works in production.

With the github repository update, I will also document the first steps of monitoring with dataplane.

By the end of the week, I believe everything will be up to date.

Also there is a nice work from a Gabriel (Brazilian student) here detailing everything:

He integrated his work into freeRtr GitHub organisation.

Carmen from CERN also did the same thing. IIRC there are threads dealing with Prometheus monitoring.

He managed to get it working alone as well as Carmen.
So I presume they can be of help with their fresh exterior perspective
