Hi all,

we have finalised the updates. As announced, the validator has been updated also within the aggregation process, so now CoCov2 warnings are also visible in the database.

The new format of the entity_status result is also implemented. It appears that all went smoothly. Should you notice something out of ordinary please let us know at:

Hi all,

Together with the validator updates that Maja wrote about, we plan to install an updated version of the eduGAIN technical site. Both updates will be done on Monday 9th. The technical site update will contain a number of lower-level improvements mainly concerning the handling of validator warnings.

The is one important change - it might affect on some verification processes run by federations. The edugain_status API call will now return information about validator warnings in a new format. I attach an example json result.

There is the new validator_messages array which is indexed with validator error messages codes and as values shows "message" and "count" - the message being the text description of the warning and count - the number of entities in the given federation where this warning was found. If no warnings have been raised in the federation then validator_messages will be absent form the result.

The "warnings" field will no longer be sent. It contained a bitmap representing all warnings in the given federation (without the count) but as we exceeded 64 warnings we could no longer fit it in the integer field. Besides, it is probably a lot easier to process the new way of showing the warnings so rather that extending the previous approach we just dropped it.

Cheers

Tomasz
