But of course ignorance, overraction and stupidity have killed other

good things, so it might well be the case that WHOIS will become much

less usage in the future for all the wrong reasons.

Unfortunately we’ve already run into this - in the .uk namespace at least.

  This is one reason InCommon now allows a domain control validation

  process similar to what CAs require for OV certificates.
