Hi,

I am writing in the name of The Royal Society (as we’re their IT support). Some time ago we’ve set up Eduroam for them and it was working fine. However, recently new users complained they can’t connect to the eduroam network on their laptop but can on the phone. Upon investigation it turned out that the installer for Windows 8+ doesn’t seem to be installing the profile at all, even though it finishes without errors – we’ve checked that both on Windows 10 and 11 machines, as admin and standard user. Upon decompressing the installer with 7zip and trying to run install script manually, we can see following errors:

Setting up wireless connection manually using old control panel works just fine and eduroam connects without issues. Problem seems to be somewhere inside these wireless profiles included in your installer. It also works fine on the Android phone using automatic installer, hence so far we’ve seen this issue only on Windows machines.

Kind regards,
