  to begin with, if you have a problem with connectivity you should turn to your local support at your institution. They should know best what is the problem.

No about 802.1x support for Linux. Indeed it is not active. Contrary to the Windows case, setting 802.1x authentication on Linux made it *required*. Since the wired network does not identify itself, like and SSID for wireless, such a *required* mode would disable the chance to connect to standard wired networks that do not ask for authentication and also any other 802.1x network would just the same eduroam credentials. All this means that for general use cases 802.1x on wired may be less useful than it would seem on the first glance.

Dear Michał,

I found a python script on site https://cat.eduroam.org that can set up wpa_supplicant configuration to connect to eduroam with WPA-EAP. I guess WPA-EAP is only for wireless connection, and it is not used with cable connection. Do you know what is the proper setting for IEEE8021? This is the setting I was using recently, but it stopped working (~ 2 months ago). I study at MFF Charles university.
