Just a brief note...

In the absence of any extensive documentation on geteduroam (or a common
issues page), we (at eduroam UK) put this page together:

https://community.jisc.ac.uk/library/network-and-technology-service-docs/geteduroam-app

When we find anything new, we note it here, because inevitably, we won't be
the only ones who have the issue. This page may move in the future.

Hi,

A bit of clarification: I am talking about geteduroam in conjunction
with the regular CAT-Profiles, not the backend system with the
certificates.

geteduroam for Android existst in two versions, one for Android 10 and
below and as a beta for 11 and up, because the normal version won't work
there.

The regular Version completely breaks the protocol and mime-type
assosications on any test devices I had so far. For example if I try to
Video-Call someone via Whatsapp or send a message to a Signal user from
my addressbook instead geteduroam opens. Every Associiation that was not
specifically usergenerated like my default browser was overwritten with
geteduroam.

This was fixed for the beta Version for 11, but this Version on the
other hand is not able to set regular network configs, instead it
configures some dark magic in the background that may or may not work.
If i am not connected there is no indication, no check if it worked.
There is no deletion without uninstalling geteduroam or manual adjusting
if something went wrong. And if another user configured Network is
available eduroam won't even connect.

So... I think the lable 'mess' is apropriate... (although a lot of this
may be googles fault)

iOS I have never tried because the .mobileconfig just works, although
our users regualary fail at the iOS pinentry...

Greetings, Lukas
