Ah. It doesn't work. Thanks for this detailed error message. Now we know
exactly what's going on. ;-)

Seriously, a bit more detail would be very helpful: do you see an error
message, etc.?

cat.eduroam.de is a legacy installation of the CAT software version 1.x,
serving exclusively German institutions. It is being discontinued in
favour of the global instance of CAT on cat.eduroam.org, which is
running on version 2.x of the underlying code base.

In short: if you get your installer directly from cat.eduroam.org, you
get the newest software. For example, the cat.eduroam.de installer is a
bash script and needs Python2; while the one you get from
cat.eduroam.org is native Python and designed to work best with Python3.

If the entry on cat.eduroam.org is merely a redirect to an entry on
cat.eduroam.de then you need to have a word with your local IT helpdesk
- it means they did not complete their migration yet, and should do so.

That indeed sounds like you still get 1.x installers from cat.eduroam.de.
