a correction: the installers on the CAT website configure the @ehu.es
automatically and correctly.

It appears that your actual username to type in is indeed something
ending in

@ehu.eus

(https://www.ehu.eus/eu/web/ikt-tic/wifi-eduroam-eskuzko-ezarpenak)

That is a rather unusual setup. If you were previously not using
automated installers at all and "simply" typed in the @edu.eus username
then it's not suprising that this didn't work. Always use the provided
installer.
