Fair point. I also see that the requests to be able to do this become
more and more frequent.

I can only reiterate what I usually write: supporting WPA/TKIP on the
standard SSID is a config item in CAT software. As soon as eduroam OT is
willing to turn it off, it's a matter of changing a config variable from
"TRUE" to "FALSE".

The place for *federation admins* (only!) to trigger that decision is
eduroam AT geant.net.
