hi,

tried to add the full bridging feature, which did not fit to the asic with
the below error message:

running /home/mc36/bf-sde-9.12.0/install/bin/bf-p4c -I. -I../p4src/
-Xp4c="--disable-parse-depth-limit" -DDUAL_PIPE optimizer1296.p4...
optimizer1296.tofino/pipe/optimizer1296.bfa:5550: error: tofino supports up
to 12 stages, using 14
optimizer1296.tofino/pipe/optimizer1296.bfa:0: error: Due to errors, no
binary will be generated
failed command assembler
returning false for 512 and 1024 on profile-geant-testbed
*** unable to find a working first value ***

but to provide just a point2point layer2, we have an other thing, which does
not involve bridging,
but local cross-connect of two (sub)interfaces:
https://github.com/rare-freertr/freeRtr/blob/master/cfg/p4lang-rout215.tst#L58
and the good news is that adding this to the testbed profile compiled fine:

*** working profile generated successfully ***

i'l commit soon this to the bitbucket... then alex's automatism will pick it
up and do the
final optimizations for both tofino1 and tofino2, then we'll get a pull
request with the new
numbers... after accepting that, alex's caches will start prebuilding with
the new binaries...
it should not take more than a day... i'll keep you posted...

br,
cs

Hi all,

There has been more than one occasion where I needed to stitch point to point
L2 circuit through a GP4L Tofino/FreeRtr device. Which is a service commonly
used by AutoGOLE/SENSE.
The current profile doesn t support BRIDGE, so I d like to request, what
is the feasebility to add it on the GEANT_TESTBED profile?

The idea is to provide different services simultaneously including, either:
1) L3 VPNs supporting Source Based Routing (i.e. using PolKA tunnels steared
by PBR rules) Supported currently

2) L2 Point to Point VPN (i.e bridge between two vlan subport including a
management IP) Not yet supported
