hi,
so you do it over rtp or something other like jacktrip?
so does it have a sequence number to spot the duplicates?
is it unicast or multicast or configurable? if not yet multicast, does it 
accept multicast at the receiver?
so if a box could nat it to multicast and static flood it into 2+ traffeng 
paths then
you have to deal only with the dedup and the playout buffer tuning before the 
earphones
i've done that trick already with commercial boxes in my var carreer but 
maybe rare could be configured to do so... :)
imho it's a kind of proactive idea compared to quickly rerouting...
