As far as I have been told, same fate for the ASIC+DPU nodes :)

alex: if these dpus are similar to what we've seen at the nvidia lab,
then we'll be in a need your dpdk nix builds but on arm64 platform... :)

Yes, basically all ingredients are there to specify new use case.

RARE/freeRtr Dpdk dataplane will be nicely integrated to this box thanks to
Nix.

well, so as alex expressed his desire to create a dpdk nix build,
(and i've started giving him hints on how to do so properly)
and if it's a similar dpu as nvidia's one then we'll need exactly
this new build on the two small arm boards attached to the asic...
btw do we have any technical contact to the box vendors to have the bsp and
the dpdk pmd?

Finger crossed !

yeahhh.... we'll see soon.... :)

cs

hi,
vlad finally dissected the root cause of the tofino2 not forwarding packets
issue and provided us a workaround:
https://community.intel.com/t5/Intel-Connectivity-Research/Port-P4-program-from-TOFINO-1-to-TOFINO-2/m-p/1449228#M4888
i've just implemented it
(https://github.com/rare-freertr/freeRtr/commit/9ec9e9ddad436aa7571ab5ecc592c272dff1b2bd)
and found that it works great in the model but i dont have access to a real
box...
so im writing to you if you can give this a quick try to see on a real
hardware?
if everything is fine then i'll commit this to the bitbucket too at least
during the weekend bump...
(if it's easier for you, the
https://bitbucket.software.geant.org/projects/RARE/repos/rare/browse/update-src.sh
will fetch it for you...)
thanks,
cs
