I’ve attached a screenshot of the text that displays when I click on the Android 11 installer from the HEAnet list of installers. This screenshot is what I see when using my Apple laptop to access eduroam CAT. If accessing eduroam CAT from an Android device the text  is displayed as part of the download process and the user has to explicitly click a “Continue” button within the text box in order to proceed i.e. the user can’t avoid being presented with the text. So everything is in place to ensure that the info is made visible to those users that need to be aware of it.

Currently the website talks of geteduroam for Android 11 only, the text for Android 8 to 10 still refers to “eduroam CAT” app. Our recommendation though is to use geteduroam for all versions of Android 8 to 11 (and onwards).

For android 11 plus users please download GetEduroam from the play store.

On the header picture below have something like Android 4.3 to Android 10.

There is a geteduroam app for iOS and iPadOS, but I don’t think there is one for MacOS.

You don’t actually need the “geteduroam” app for iOS/iPadOS at all. Those o/s'es already have built-in capability to process an installer downloaded from eduroam CAT, so don’t need any additional software for this purpose.

Generally organisations tend to use the geteduroam app for iOS/iPadOS if they want to avail of some additional functionality/feature it offers or if they want Apple users to follow the very same process as Android users. If you want to use the app then that’s perfectly fine of course, but unlike with Android, you have that as a choice as it’s not *needed* for iOS/iPadOS.

Just to confirm, regarding the new Eduroam changes.

Does the getEduroam app work for Mac OS devices aswell ?

Or is there a separate app for android and Mac ?

In terms of our documentation is easier to update everything to be using getEduroam app
