Hello again.

On rereading your message in detail (I must not have been wide awake this morning !), I understood where the option to activate was located.

So I tried it. Everything seems to work fine except for the manual download link (https://cat.eduroam.org/geteduroam-stable.apk) which returns the following error: "Not Found".

Are you aware of this problem? What about it?

If it could work, it would be very helpful in case of limited access to internet in general and Play Store particularly.

Hello and thank you for this information.

I'm particularly interested in the new approach concerning geteduroam for Android devices. I've gone to the cat.eduroam.org website but I can't see the two buttons (Google Play and AppGallery) as shown in the image you presented in your email.

I've cleared the browser cache for this site. But that doesn't change anything.
Could you tell me where I am wrong?

Hi,

  we have finalized the CAT update which is now running on a new host and new operating system. There was no downtime for installer downloads, and about 45 minuted downtime for admins. We are still working on mail invitations.

There may still be some other issues, of course, please report if you seem something off.

The most important changes are:

1. New optional approach to geteduroam for Android devices

2. Support for RTL languages and an implementation in Arabic language

3. RadSec certificates from eduPKI available for NRO admins

4. Many internal improvements and fixes.

The new approach to geteduroam means that instead of the standard download button and a message, the user will be immediately directed to geteduroam download, and the should just use the app to locate the correct institution and do the configuration (as in the image below). 

If you like this approach then ju just need to go to "installer fine ftuning and downloads" for a given profile, click the button for the Android device and add the option "Show the dedicated geteduroam download page for this device". This option can be also set for other devices but at the moment will not do anything for them - we will be adding this approach for other devices in the future.
