Hello,

this depends on the QA on the final product. We'll need to spend some time particularly for your Arabic translation: it is the first right-to-left language we have, and that may produce some awkward-looking UI. It's not the first non-Latin based language (we ship Greek for many years), and the code is prepared to handle that, but RTL has its own challenges.

Please follow and post to cat-devel instead for further questions regarding the release date and status; this is not a topic for cat-users.

Greetings,

Stefan Winter

Hello Stefan,

Hope you are doing great and staying safe, thanks for your email.

Looking forward for the strings to be released.

Regarding the word in Arabic, we would suggest to use

العربية

Which is very well know and used by Arabs rather than the

الفصحى

Moreover, the second word is a description of the language itself, the opposite word of it is “Slangs.”

Hello!

We've just started the release process for version 2.1.1. There are a few new strings to translate (10 in total, will announce to the list soon), you will find them in Transifex.

For final inclusion, the one string that's not in the sources is the name of your language in local language (displayed on the language selection drop-down). Wikipedia suggests this should be

العربية

?

Or should I use

الفصحى

instead maybe?

Greetings,

Stefan Winter

Hello!

Great! we will announce the translation period for the next release on that mailing list. You do not need to request anything; if the translation is complete by the end of the translation period, your language will be included.

There is not currently an ETA for a next release. We did accumulate a few hotfixes of 2.1.0 over time, so it would not be the worst of ideas to release a .1 soon. I'll discuss that with the core devs.

Greetings,

Stefan Winter

Dear Stefan,

Greetings and thanks for your reply,

I subscribed to this mailing list. Do we need to send a request of releasing the new language to this list?

As per the below screenshot, we have completed the translation of all CAT parts, and we are ready to complete translation of any additional strings of the new release.

Hello!

That is great news, thanks for that!

You should subscribe to the mailing list cat-devel AT lists.geant.org (https://lists.geant.org/sympa/subscribe/cat-devel) - this is the place where we coordinate translations for new releases.

Please note that there are typically some string changes immediately prior to the next release, which need to be attended to in a two-week time slot. These will be announced on that mailing list.

If your language meets the inclusion criteria after the slot time (100% translation of web_user, core, devices resource files), you'll be part of the next release!

Greetings,

Stefan Winter
