Hi,

 the problem is that this profile is meant to configure the wired interface as well as the wifi one. Mac have problem with this if they do not have a wired interface installed. Your University has created a non-wired profile for TLS authentication - I expect as a result of a similar problem, but there is no alterative profile for TTLS.

Your admins would need to create an alternative profile and then things should work.

        I
          would like to report an issue with the installation of my
          eduroam profile to access the wi-fi of my university
          (Politecnico di Milano). After 6 different tries (today from
          10.50 to 12:40), the installation of the profile failed, even
          though:

I installed the correct
            profile installer (-TTLS);
          the profile actually
            shows correctly in System Preferences, as a profile to be
            installed;
          I have entered the
            correct credentials three times (as stated in the
            instructions);
        
        But
          the installation of the profile continued to fail because
          ‘wifi network payload could not be installed’ and ‘wifi
          interface could not be found’ as stated in the attached
          screenshot. How could I solve this problem? 
        
        
        I
          would really appreciate quick assistance because I need wifi
          connection on a daily basis, especially now during exam
          session.
