Hi,
for some reason, Tomasz's response didn't make it to the list. For your
reference:
"That is correct. The reason is that our tests have shown that once
802.1x is enabled on Linux it becomes mandatory, in particular the user
will not be getting a connection for "normal" network sockets. This
means that if the admin enables wired config that it could break down
wired connectivity for unsuspecting users who actually do not want wired
edroam at all, but might want to use a wire at home.
We have not tested Linux behaviour for a while now, so if something has
changed we could return to the issue.
we could of course display lots of warnings and give the user a chance
to do something but how effective that would be it is hard to tell."
