pretty much some of the reasons why I used to strongly suggest using your own CA when delivering courses
"since your new cert will be signed by the same root it trusts, and have
the same name (in theory, not actually done it yet!)."almost....there are a few oddities - usually when people havent used your installers etc and have just joined the
network themselves following the manual instructions - as iOS pins the RADIUS server by fingerprint - which will
change when you go through this process. but other than that yes - have undergone RADIUS cert changes
- including adding intermediate etc with little problem on a production 802.1X network
