This sounds like the other guy was the primary admin, and invited you to
become a secondary.

In that case, you will have to ask for a new invitation from your
eduroam National Roaming Operator, DeIC. If they re-invite you from the
NRO level, you will have primary admin rights, which means you can
invite secondaries (and/or remove the previous primary).
