All installers are generated on the fly - when the download button is pushed. We do keep a cache of identical installers. This cache gets invalidated whenever the IdP admin makes *any* change to its IdP-wide or profile settings. We also invalidate it when touching code that affects actual installer generation - because such a change leads to a non-identical installers.

BTW, as far as I can tell from my limited testing, once my IdP is properly set up and described in the CAT interface, the installers "just work" as intended.
