Hi,

  in eduroam CAT 2.0 we will have an option to either just nag the user
about missing realm or even to pre-fill the realm with a configured string.

And, by the way, in Windows TTLS you *can* specify different realm for
the outer identity, so all pretty much depend on the selected EAP method.
