I've never heard of something like that.

In any case, issues like this one would probably be highly
operating-system dependent, so I'd appreciate a bit more detail which
platform those users were using.

Also, depending on your CAT SSID settings and their home networks, this
could be just a unlucky coincidence: if your CAT settings include
"Remove/Disable SSID" for an onboarding SSID *and* those users happen to
have the same SSID at home, then yes, that SSID would get disabled and
they might experience a connecitvity issue at home.

It very occasionally happens that our Windows installers get
false-positive rating by some antivirus vendors, despite code signing
certificates and requesting white-listing. That's because the installers
necessarily change system settings and registry values; there's no way
around that.

If the user is seriously concerned that there is a problem, he or she
should upload the file to virustotal.com and see if other AV engines
besides Avast confirm a problem.
