The mailing list for users of the eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool (CAT)

Hi Stefan

From our office using a laptop and mobile phone (both using the same public ip), the cat tool shows Universities UK on the list correctly for the laptop but on the mobile it does not show up. Even when we scroll down to a distance away of 25km plus. Please see the attached screenshot.

Most of our staff will be using their mobile to access this list so I just need to be able to explain to them why UUK doesn't appear correctly on the list when using a mobile.

are you not seeing it at all in the list, or is it just the case that
the geolocation is some km off and you are pushed down the list for
being positioned a bit further away from your actual location?

I'm asking because this seems to be in the middle of London with MANY
IdPs located closely. Even if scrolling down doesn't help - is there a
link at the bottom of the list with "show more"? We cap the list of
nearby institutions at 25; so please see if clicking that link gets you
on the extended vicinity list.

We currently use a free geolocation database which self-asserts as
delivering a more corase-grained location info than the same company's
paid version could... for places like downtown London, we would really
need to be as accurate as possible.
