It seems that openssl in version 1.0.3 will have an -attime option to smime and the same one for verify. However there is still a question if Apple will support this on their side.

We do not have timestamping set, the truth is I do not know if this can be done and even less how to do it.
For Windows we are fine, as there is an explicit option for timestamping.
We will try to explore the possibilities. My first try was ask the community and see if someone comes with an idea, no luck so far.

Does anyone know whether the new code sign cert added to the (CAT) profiles is set with a timestamp option? We’ve just rolled this out (in the last week L ) to our (1000+) users and are in the process of advising them again but thinking about the future, if the timestamp option is set at least they don’t have to remove/add the profiles again (in 2018).

 

Obviously this doesn’t help if there is more fundamental code change but at least we can contain it by which versions we make available to our user.

 

Just planning our strategy going forwards.
