The mailing list for users of the eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool (CAT)

Hello,

just to let you know that we have hopefully fixed the problems you were
experiencing in the last few days.

For some reason, a trouble ticketing system of eduroam France was
subscribed to the list, and the local helpdesk staff responded to list
messages even though that was superfluous.

In addition, many of the messages to the list were sent to the old
address 
cat-users AT geant.net
 - but did not bounce as advertised, they
were forwarded to the new address.

* If you did not have a mail filter for the new list address, all that
recent "spam" went to your inbox. *

Also, mails which were sent to both addresses arrived twice, and
provoked two of the helpdesk responses, effectively leading to four
posts for just one.

All in all, this was quite a mess.

I have now removed the ticketing system from the subscriber list. This
should significant reduce the noise.

I have also been told that the bounce action for the old address will be
put in place by tomorrow.

This should get things back to normal. If you were considering to
unsubscribe, it may be an idea to wait a few days and see if you are
still unsatisfied.
