This sounds like a typical erroneous username. You need to provide your
username with the @realm suffix, like
john.doe AT univ-whatever.fr
. If you
only use "john.doe" eduroam may or may not work locally because the
routing part of the username is not needed; but it will definitely not
work when roaming.
