Correction,
   I have just tested iOS 8.0.2 with EAPlab, and verified that this missing extension *does not* cause any problems. Therefore it must be something else that is bothering your phone. Sorry for mis-information.
Of course getting the server certificate right is a good idea anyway, but this is not necessarily going to be a cure.

This is incorrect and has been causing problems on Mac OS X since 10.8, so very likely it now has reappeared in iOS 8.

The admin of liu.se should reissue the server certificate with proper extensions (https://wiki.terena.org/display/H2eduroam/EAP+Server+Certificate+considerations)
