Hi everyone!

Hi Christopher! I saw your message here in the group about RARE/freeRtr with DPDK in virtualized environments, and I decided to interact.

We've been using RARE/freeRtr for some time in VMs in clouds like GCloud, AWS and OpenStack, in the RENaaS project (https://dev.connect.geant.org/2022/10/31/brazil-assists-cape- green-in-building-its-academic-network-using-nfv).

An interesting discovery we had was the use of the GCloud serial interface to access a VM with RARE/freeRtr after installing a single line (install.sh). If you had a problem with the main interface, it would still be possible to use this feature. It would be great to have serial interface functionality in AWS, but we haven't figured out how to do that yet.

It was great to see the discussion on enabling dataplane with DPDK in a VM. We are heading in the same direction.
