Hi Marcos,

I think this is exactly what we are doing for several years already.
Not with RARE, but with simple dedicated code.

We have 1 crossconnect switch in our lab and all other switches and
servers are connected to it. We can build (remotely) any topology we wish.

We can connect pairs of ports, where all combinations are possible
untagged -- untagged
untagged -- tagged
retagging
tagged -- double tagged
etc.

This code is not public because I thought it was a niche. If you want
I can send the code to you. I have some ideas to extend it. Maybe
we can work together on those.
