hi,
my next experiment was with the also just arrived appliance...
it's a 4thread i7-7500u with 6 nics and a lot of ram... it
costed 400euros but floui have a very similar one with much
reasonable j1900 and ram, and that one costed only 200euros,
and have similar performance except the crypto stuff...
my guy tested with l2tp because that is what kifu badly needs,
especially with mpls over it... :)
nevertheless to say the box is wirespeed, so here are the stats:
the ports are divided to threads, one used 11% the other 22%.
from the above, the box could do 16gbps in total traffic, that
is more than enough for it's 6 ports...
then i enabled macsec with aes256+sha1 and since it have aes-ni,
it was wirespeed, and used 75%+15% of the cpu threads for that,
so the box is capable of 4gbps total crypto bandwidth...
