hi,
so my suggestion is, instead of cherry picking a newer nix release, is it 
possible to go with the nix-unstable instead?
-in case of debian, unstable means the latest stable of all the given 
packages, excluding betas (which arrive in experimental)
-not all fixes get a cve, so the latest usually is the greatest...
-at a given time, the packages are believed to work well together...
-if it fits for a google sized company (glinux, a debian sid derivative) then 
it should work for us too...
