Hi all,

How would it be a case to monitor the DATA PLANE instead of the control plane
with Prometheus?

so as you may already guessed, in freerouter, almost everything is a table...
the dataplanes just populate a column in various tables where appropriate,
like every time a route is used, it's noted both in software and in hardware:
https://github.com/rare-freertr/freeRtr/blob/cf8cb566e80da35537d1bfdd1d396c789b9334c8/src/net/freertr/tab/tabRouteEntry.java#L55
later on, when they're displayed to the user, and then you can create a
sensor from it, then export to prometheus, influx or whatever...

Would it be a problem to do this test using Virtual Machine or Container?
no change at all
