Ok, brilliant – That’s very helpful. I suspect that the invoice route is more what our management would expect to see happen, should we choose to bung the project some money :-)

Hi,

It’s definitely possible to support the project (outside of the known list of NRENs), by donating to the project (or by contributing to the code/development).

I would suggest getting in touch with one of the geteduroam board members, a list can be found at:
https://commonsconservancy.org/programmes/
(Yet I see we need to modify the board member list, Wenche is now chair. In fact, Wenche will approach you on this funding question.)

Making a donation is as trivial as transferring money to the right bank account (of NLnet foundation) and indicating it’s for “geteduroam” (but we definitely want to know about it :-)) and this approach may have some tax benefits.

The alternative is to create an invoice for you to pay, which again may be nicer if your taxing authority requires this or your financial administration,

Sorry to drag that dead horse back out of the ditch, but – as much as I know DeIC, NORDUnet, Uninett and SURF fund the development, and it’s part of the Commons Conservancy, that does not answer how someone can contribute something financially to the project. The CC does *not* handle funding (they are explicit about that), so who do you need to approach to discuss funding (either specifically a feature or more generally contribute)? Is it someone at one of the funding NRENs? Is there a contact email address?

 

Answers on a postcard, please!
