Hi All

A kind reminder of this call for participation.  We have a lot of interest in participating in the pilot but I could use more people to help on the policy side.  Please note, we will also use this as an opportunity to update the SAML profile and specifically the proposal to make https://refeds.org/metadata/contactType/security, mdui:PrivacyStatementURL and https://refeds.org/assurance mandatory for eduGAIN entities.

I’ve updated the wiki page on the working group at: https://wiki.geant.org/display/eduGAIN/eduGAIN+Technical+Profiles+Working+Group and have started the process of breaking down the technical profile at: https://wiki.geant.org/display/eduGAIN/OpenID+Technical+Profile+Mapping.

The mailing list for this work will be: https://lists.geant.org/sympa/info/edugain-policy.  Please feel free to sign up i you are interested or let me know directly.

Subject: eduGAIN and OpenID plans

Dear All

 

Thank you to those of you who joined us recently at the meetings where we discussed future plans for eduGAIN and OpenID.  Here’s a couple of ways you can get involved.

 

1. Join the eduGAIN OpenID Pilot – more information at: https://wiki.geant.org/display/eduGAIN/eduGAIN+-+Open+ID+Federation+Pilot.  The recording from the recent infoshare is also available.
2. We are calling for people who are interested in participating in an eduGAIN Technical Profiles Working Group to develop the future profiles and review our needs and requirements.  More information at: https://wiki.geant.org/display/eduGAIN/eduGAIN+Technical+Profiles+Working+Group.  Please drop a line to support AT edugain.org if you would like to take part…it’s open to participation from both eduGAIN members and those from the wider community with an interest. 

 

We really hope that many of you will be able to join us and contribute as we make this important shift in our architecture.
