Dear Owen and Ahmed,
Documents are well organized based on templates. Please find my comments below.
1. It seems that eduId.ng's federation metadata does not comply with its MRPS.
Please check: https://technical.edugain.org/validator2?fed_id=EDUID-NG
2. I wonder if the content related to the subscription fee should be in the application form: the website or policy documents might include the information regarding the subscription fee.
3. No privacy policy statement is found on the website: Some eduGAIN members may require the policy to inter-federate.
4. The policy document (p.5) stated: "must follow the practice presented in the Data Protection Profile."
However, I could hardly find the Data Protection Profiles.
5. In the MRPS document (p.5): recommend changing the Metadata format in the box (e.g., registrationAuthority="http://eduid.ng").
6. In the policy document (p.6), membership eligibility is a little bit ambiguous to me.
- required to define the Nigerian research and education community and the affiliate member: as the definition in p.3, Federation Members could consist of Home Organizations, Service Providers, and/or an Attribute Authority only.
- The eligibility section in p.6 should be refined more:
* the base eligibility criteria make no sense if there is no difference between the affiliate members and Home Organizations.
* It looks like somewhere in the policy document, you need to state how to approve the affiliate members.
* The section would become more apparent if it states the eligibility criteria for Home Orgs., Service Providers, and Exceptional Cases, respectively.

Dear All,As eduGAIN Chair, I present to you the application of:
- Nigeria / eduID.ng
who has Signed the eduGAIN Declaration, has a policy based on the federation template, is self-declaring their federation as a production service and is wanting to join the global R&E federated environment.
You can find more detailed information about the federation under "eduGAIN Candidates” at:which contains links to their policy and MRPS.I ask the following federations to specifically review the submission by Nigeria / eduID.ng:
- Israel / IUCC Identity Federation
- Italy / IDEM
- Japan / GakuNin
- Korea / KAFE
- Kyrgystan / KRENA Identity Federation
All eduGAIN members can (and should) provide feedback on this but to share the burden of review around, these five (5) federations have a specific responsibility. The deadline for assessment is set on Friday 12 November EOB.
If you have any questions please contact the eduID.ng team (Owen Iyowa owen AT eko-konnekt.org.ng and Ahmed Isah Chafe aichafe AT udusok.edu.ng. Both in CC).
Formal components of the membership process will be via the eduGAIN Steering Group mailing list. Thanks,
