Dear All,

Thank you very much for the support, indeed this is a major milestone in the development of the IAM community in Malaysia.

Definitely, we will do all the technical necessity to get our metadata ingested into eduGAIN.

Regards

All,

just as a follow-up - the voting process has concluded and SIFULAN of Malaysia has been admitted as the 57th member of eduGAIN.

We’ll be working to get their metadata ingested into eduGAIN shortly.

Thanks to all involved and most importantly thanks to the SIFULAN team.

All,

I present to you the application of: Malaysia / SIFULAN

who has Signed the eduGAIN Declaration, has a policy based on the federation policy template that covers all the prescribed areas, is self declaring their federation as a production service and is wanting to join the global R&E federated environment.

Since the policy and MRPS so closely aligns with the REFEDS templates https://wiki.refeds.org/display/FBP/ I’ve decided to forgo the summary document.

You can find more detailed information about the federation under "eduGAIN Candidates” at
   https://technical.edugain.org/status.php

their policy and MRPS is linked from their federation page https://sifulan.my but for completeness you can find them here:
 * Policy linked from https://sifulan.my/join.php (while titled DRAFT it will be revised/approved as a result of this assessment).

This application is from an organisation that is closely aligned with the GÉANT community and their participation in eduGAIN will further build links to the Malaysian academic community.

So I ask the following federations to specifically review the submission by SIFULAN:
 * Ukraine / PEANO
 * United States / InCommon
 * United Kingdom / UK Federation
 * Algeria / ARNaai
 * Argentina / MATE

All eduGAIN members can (and should) provide feedback on this but to share the burden of review around, these five (5) federations have a specific responsibility.

If you have any questions please contact the SIFULAN team (Suhaimi and Muhammad Farhan) that are subscribed to this mailing list as well as CC’d to this message.

Formal components of the membership process will be via the eduGAIN Steering Group mailing list.

Thanks,

Brook Schofield
