Hi all,

IDEM has completed the transition of the eduGAIN policy for IdPs from
opt-in to opt-out. Since last April every new IdP joining IDEM Federation
has been subjected to the opt-out policy, i.e. it has been added by
default to the eduGAIN stream. Now we have registered to eduGAIN also all
the old registered IDPs, and now 62 Italian IdPs are published in the
eduGAIN stream. In order to achieve this, IDEM technical staff is
performing some compliance tests on IdPs before publishing them to
eduGAIN:

• Mdui tags in place in Italian and in English
• Privacy Policy in place in Italian and in English
• Metadata validation with https://www.edugain.org/Metadata/
• CA and Certs checking on Metadata and on end points

In addition IDEM is also republishing the eduGAIN metadata stream merged
with the IDEM one: as Italian IdPs are consuming this stream, the
metadata exchange should be perfectly in place.

Note that:

• Policy for IDEM SPs remain opt-in
• IDEM doesn't expose campus-internal SPs to the local identity federation, so consequently they're not exposed to eduGAIN either.
