Hi,
It turned out that the old MDS has a problem with the new SWAMID feed validation (MDS problem, not metadata).
Therefore we had no option but to finally switch production to the new, pyFF based, MDS.

From now on, the eduGAIN metadata will be generated hourly. Federations will be pulled at :15 and the new file at http://mds.edugain.org will be placed at :30.

The new MDS does more input validation and reacts as follows:
- if the feed fails validation it is just dropped and the last valid copy is used for as long as the validUnil of this copy allows,
- if a federation feed becomes outdated, either due to missing input or due to the input itself being out of date, this federation metadata will be dropped.

This new federation has been running in parallel to the old one for months and was behaving very well, but of course we will be monitoring things closely, still if you happen to notice something odd, please let us know at edugain-ot AT geant.net.

Tomasz

Hi all,

swamid has now switched or identity provider edugain opt-in policy to an opt-out policy. This together with that we have on metadatfeed for identity provider purposes that slmpst all Swedish HEI can use services in edugain.
