Hi,
we were linking to the old "eduroam CAT" App for all older devices.
While no one _should_ use such outdated stuff - a lot of people and
devices still do (especially weird stuff running Android that are not
phones...). I even have an "Outdoor" Android 9 Tablet here for testing
;-)
Aditionally for Android 10 and maybe even 11 it was a valuable
emergency option to circumvent google's borked API situation when
geteduroam misbehaved (like setting itself als default for everything
was really annoying - I know not your fault you were unable to push an
update without breaking other stuff)
As I am currently preparing geteduroam (with let's wifi) documentation
and do some preliminary tests I was still linking to eduroam CAT to
open the .eap-config files generated by let's wifi for all those older
devices.
Configuring EAP-TLS correctly on Android is mind boggeling complicated
and inconsistent across vendors and requires multiple pages of
documentation. (I've made them but it's not nice)
But today I wanted to make more screenshots and found that eduroam CAT
was no longer listed in Google Play...
Was this removal intentional? If yes - where would this change have
been announced? I have subscribed like 5 eduroam mailing lists now and
still seem to have missed it....
Greetings,
Lukas
