no, it is not. There are roughly 3 million active users in Germany alone.
But this powerful infrastructure requires a correct 802.1X setup on the
client side.
This can in some cases be tricky, mostly due to sloppy or buggy software
implentations
in various devices.

So could you please provide some detail:
- What device(s) are you trying to connect?
- What OS is running on the device(s), what version for each?
- What's your home institution?
