Despite the formal similarity, the eduroam username is NOT an Email address.

From DHBW's Android XML config file:
          
<OuterIdentity>31e3b343e2f6ec97af4da5978bc62f73 AT hb.dhbw-stuttgart.de</OuterIdentity>

so please try
<username>@hb.dhbw-stuttgart.de

If you have a Windows client, make sure you do type in the _long_ name,
Windows does not honour the installer setting.
If this does not work, contact their helpdesk.
